We, Malc and Jane bought the olive grove in 2018, when the property consisted of 4.5 Stremme (approximately one acre). There was a very dilapidated cottage that had four walls and half a roof. No plumbing, sewerage, or electrics. In the grounds were olive trees and a quarry. There has been a lot of blood, sweat, tears to make The Olive Pickers House what it is today and there is still plenty of things we would like to do. We have tried wherever possible to keep original features and as many olive trees as possible. This little house was our home for three years before moving in 2022 to our forever home also in the olive grove which we built and is more suitable for our needs and for our children and grandchildren when they come to visit.
The quarry became the swimming pool and sunbathing area and we nurtured and fertilised the trees until they once again began to produce excellent quality olives from which we produce approximately 170 litres of olive oil a year. The lemon trees in the garden produce around 500 lemons a year from which we make Lemon Curd and Lemon Marmalade both of which are delicious and appear in your Welcome pack. The vegetable patch is a work in progress from which we hope to have cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes.
We really look forward to welcoming you to our lovely Greek home.
Best regards
Jane and Malc.
